Designed primarily for individual use, the Tusano Hex Tray helps keep dice rolls controlled, readable, and contained during long sessions. Its footprint stays compact for crowded game nights and convention tables while still leaving enough rolling space for enthuiastic play. At the same time, the angular profile gives the tray a slightly more structured and geometric feel than traditional round trays without becoming distracting or overly stylized.
The Tusano Hex Tray is designed for players and Dungeon Masters who want a dedicated rolling space without cluttering the table. Raised outer walls help prevent dice from scattering across maps, terrain pieces, notebooks, and miniatures during active play. Likewise, the contained rolling area helps keep dice easier to read and collect between turns. Each Tusano Hex Tray uses solid hardwood construction designed for long-term use and ease of care. The striped hardwood variant uses several American hardwoods, including; Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Oak and Maple. The natural variation creates a more visually layered appearance while still maintaining the durability needed for regular rolling and handling. Meanwhile, the European Beechwood version offers a cleaner and more uniform appearance while preserving the same handcrafted feel and dependable construction. Each Hexagon Wooden Dice Tray receives a finish of Brad’s Workbench Tung Honey to help protect the wood while preserving its natural texture and grain character. The result feels smooth and durable without becoming overly glossy or artificial. And yes, technically speaking:
the finish keeps your dice chewable. Just in case.
The Tusano Hex Tray has several lining options depending on how you want your rolls to feel and sound. Available options include; Felt lining, Leather lining or bare hardwood interiors. Felt-lined trays provide a softer and quieter rolling surface while also allowing for stronger color customization. Current felt color options include; Blue, Red, Black, Green and Purple. Custom felt colors are also available upon request. Leather-lined trays provide a slightly heavier and more refined rolling feel, while natural wood interiors preserve the sharper crack and tactile response of dice rolling directly against hardwood. Additional customization options may include; Engraving, Embossment, Symbols, Logos, Campaign markings and Personalized artwork.
Mini trays run approximately 5 inches across, with Beechwood variants running slightly larger. Medium trays run approximately 7 inches across and are designed for regular tabletop play. Striped hardwood trays run slightly deeper due to thicker material construction. Larger trays are also available as one-off requests for players looking for oversized rolling spaces, or serving centerpieces. Because wood is a natural material, grain orientation, striping, coloration, and figuring will naturally vary from tray to tray. Due to the handmade and often personalized nature of our products, returns are limited. Non-custom items may be returned within 7 days of delivery if unused and in original condition. Custom or engraved pieces are final sale unless damaged in transit.
