“My chosen medium is wood, but I love metal and reclaimed/storied materials as well. I work at what I call “Nerdery”, the space where contemporary craft meets pulp and pop culture. I like to call my process and designs “Tavernwares” and cater to enthusiasts of high fantasy, sci fi, comics, and video games (nerds; I make for nerds). Some of my biggest inspirations are epic sagas and philosophical thought pieces in video games and modern media such as Destiny, Disco Elysium, Sea of Thieves, and Hades.” - Thomas, Maker Feature

I was approached a few months back by Voyage Michigan and the resulting write up, was a fantastic exercise in letting people know what I’m all about. I appreciated it immensely and it let me dig in and discuss what it’s all about to me. Give it a read at the link above. I don’t think there’s a better explanation of what I’m trying to do.

The Masters of Craft Panel, at Inbeon Con!

We’re excited to announce today that Thomas, (Me. Whoops, are forth wall breaks allowed? whelp they are now) will be in virtual attendance at Inbeon Con, this weekend, August 28th and 29th 2021, I’ll be speaking with

• David Morgan of Break the Stigma,
  Friend and cousin of TAOS by Law, He advocates for mental health, and volunteers with Inbeon to run panels and do marketing .

• Woody Locke of Lockewood Guitars and Design, A California Native and close friend here in Michigan who makes some awesome hand made wood goods

• and Elli White, of Fail Factory, Introduced to me through mutual friends Elli has literally set up shop in Texas with ambitions to start their own Makerspace and involves themselves in creating access for underserved communities to tech education.

So brief introduction, I’m one of the faces you’ll see running and providing content! President and Chief of The Tusano Trading Co, There’s also Leeanne Roberson, who will make the occasional appearance in writing and pictures/videos, and there are others soon to join us, but for now, I figured it really important to lay out the media that sets the foundational story of Tusano.

There’s a part three to it, but the most important introduction to Me and what I’m attempting to do with Tusano has to be the TAOS by Law Podcast “What’s your story?” in which we lay out from Childhood all the way till now and my future aspirations for The Tusano Trading Company and the Artists along with us.

With this, we bring together a solid foundation of passionate Artists and Makers that encourage each other and work as a team to make Making work for all of us.
