Beginning as a hobbyist, Xel began improving her art as a way to bring to life the characters and scenes from the local table top games she played in. Now, she works in character illustrations, specializing in fantasy rpg characters for the tabletop community. While she draws inspiration from fantasy settings, Xel’s art often attempts to bring in a sense of levity and fun to her work with her bright pastel color palettes that may sometimes be atypical of the genre.
Continuing to follow the inspirations that drove her to begin working in art, Xel’s mission is to create illustrations that help commissioners convey the scenes and the magic they imagine during their games to others on paper. In addition to her affinity for character art, Xel has recently begun expanding her horizons and taking on more graphical work. The updated Tusano Trading Co logo offered her a chance to apply her experiences with fantasy weapons to an endeavor out of her comfort zone. After the creation of the logo Xel decided to explore further, creating a design for the backs of a set of custom playing cards, featuring character art from her current tabletop campaign.
