Wood Sourced from Live Edge Detroit
Blue-Cheese Pine
My first from scratch custom Electric Guitar, inspired by the lead guitarist of Pantera
Initially inspired by the song “Sidewinder” and it’s acoustic outro, Makore back, Mahogany sides, 5 layer laminate neck, Santos bridge and Fretboard
Made for the cabinet I used for my desk Project by Miri Draper, a California based illustrator, also used for the Tusano T-Shirt
The startings of a 7ft long behemoth known as the Gallows, an executive style “Workstation” meant for modeling, blue-prints, and office work, mean to hide modern fittings and hardware in exchange for a transparent “salvaged” look.
The map of Detroit I manipulated and engraved into the desk, another shot with both my own motto and the Detroit City Motto, translates roughly to “We shall Hope for Better things, From ashes it shall rise”
The full size of the desk, laid out, the center leaf was scrapped for joining the halves edge to edge.
The desk stained and then sealed under Epoxy Resin for the final “Salvaged” or “Burnt” look I wanted to encapsulate the potential and rebound the City showed after the fire of 1805. There is symbolism however in that I chose a modern map…
A heritage piece that shows the scale and flourish I enjoy working with. Though simple in design, the features of this are more than just a simple bookshelf, as it boasts modular and broad use, along with the possibility for integration with smart home Tech.
Laser Engraving by John Coggeshall of This Smart House blog, He commissioned me for the wooden base that holds it, asking for something “Futureproof” in terms of upgrades. Featured in his wedding the weekend after it was made.
